Bollywood Singer Harshdeep Kaur at Leicester Press Conference

Indian playback singer, Harshdeep Kaur who is known for her Sufi songs attended a press conference yesterday at the Ramada Encore Hotel in Leicester. The press conference which took place prior to her performance this evening, was attended by many local media, including BBC Radio Leicester and the Leicester Mercury. Harshdeep is set to perform at De Montfort hall tonight, which will be the first time the singer has ever performed as a solo artist in Leicester.

 

 

The singer’s support act, Nagesh Burbure, spoke at the press conference before Harshdeep was scheduled to arrive. Nagesh, who is adored by many, will perform on the same stage as Harshdeep tonight at the concert. During the press conference, the Sufi singer said “I think I’m more excited than the audience about singing my songs.”

 

As the local media asked questions, Harshdeep responded positively and thanked Leicester for their support. Assistant City Mayor, Councillor Manjula Sood, told Harsheep she was proud of her and is glad she had chosen to perform in the city. Harsheep later stated “It feels really good to be in Leicester, I’ve heard it’s a beautiful city.”

 

After winning the titles in two talent reality shows, Harshdeep established herself as a lead singer in Bollywood soundtracks.

 

Known as ‘The Queen of Sufi’, Harshdeep Kaur has had many hit songs including Baari Barsi from Band Baaja Baarat, Katiya Karoon from Rockstar and many more. She is also known for her beautiful rendition of Ik Onkar from Rang De Basanti. When asked to perform a part of one of her songs in the press conference, she sang without any hesitation.

 

After the press conference yesterday, Harshdeep said “It’s good to be here and I’m looking forward to my concert tomorrow”. She went on to say “my aim is to keep singing and keep producing good music.” The concert tonight at De Montfort Hall is certainly a show not to be missed.
