Deputy Lord Mayor and Leicester Council of Faiths Chair, Councillor Manjula Sood has been awarded an honorary Doctor of Letters by De Montfort University in recognition of outstanding achievements in her field. The former Lord Mayor had received an honorary Degree from Leicester University back in 2008.
The graduation ceremony at Curve theatre, took place on Wednesday 18 July, on De Montfort University graduation week. 11 other distinguished individuals are being presented honorary degrees including broadcast journalist and presenter Moira Stuart OBE, Lord Lieutenant of Leicestershire Lady Gretton and Lewis Moody MBE, England Rugby Union player.
