On Thursday 29 March 2012 the University of Leicester arranged a charity ball in aid of the Cardiovascular Research Centre Appeal. The event took place at the Athena in Leicester’s Cultural Quarter.
Over 300 guests attended the event, among them prominent local figures, who were treated to a Drinks Reception, a three course dinner, special guest speakers, music, dancing and a Gala Auction.
The support from the event raised over £75,000 in vital funds towards the building and equipping of the new Cardiovascular Research Centre at the University’s teaching hospital at Glenfield, Leicester.
