Theatre-goers from around Leicester will be first to watch top comedian and presenter Rufus Hound playing the leading role in Nicholas Hytner’s five star award-winning production of ‘One Man, Two Guvnors’, which will be running at Curve during its Autumn 2012 season.
The ‘Celebrity Juice’ panellist joins the second UK tour of the critically acclaimed West End play, performing at almost all regional tour dates, including the appearances at Curve from Thursday 25 October to Saturday 3 November, which will be followed with an international tour.
Hound, who debuted as a stage actor at The Soho Theatre with Steve Marmion’s ‘Utopia’, tells Pukaar News about his comeback to Theatre. He said: “I am on the permanent verge of utter bowel emptiment with excitement. I really don’t know how this has happened, but by god, I’m going to work my tits off to make this the very best it can be. It’s a phenomenal show and deserves nothing but my best, my all. So, that’s what I’m going to give it.”
Expected as one of Curves’ smash hits of next season, ‘One Man, Two Guvnors’ tells the story Francis Henshall, a man who becomes separately employed by two minor-league gangsters, and when he discovers one of the mobsters is seeking revenge on the other, he tries the impossible to keep the two from seeing the other’s face.
The new tour is set to play alongside the show’s West End run, where Henshall is played by Welsh-born actor Owain Arthur.
Hound will also make appearances in the feature film ‘Wedding Video’ alongside Sex and The City’s actress Kim Cattrall and Lucy Purch, as well as the movie ‘Wingman’, which is scheduled for release by the end of 2012.
