It was an evening of joy and celebration for six local business women as they bagged awards at Britain’s Asian Wedding Awards.
Now in its third year, the dazzling event took place at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel in London on Wednesday 6th March.
The awards celebrate and recognise the commitment of Britain’s flourishing Asian wedding industry and to reward the efforts of those who go above and beyond to make someone’s special day one to remember.
The overall winner of Wedding Planner of the Year went to Priti Raichura, mother-of-two and event director at PR Events, who since 2017 has worked incredibly hard to create unforgettable events for her clients both in the UK and internationally.
Priti who was elated by the announcement said: “I am so honoured to have been nominated as the Best Wedding Planner through Britain’s Asian Wedding Awards. There were some very talented runners-up, and in fact, they are all winners too. I would like to thank everyone who has supported me in my journey so far, and look forward to your continued support.”
Safina Adam, a self-taught henna artist walked away with Henna Artist of the Year. The 23-year-old from Leicester who provides her services for all occasions including weddings and photoshoots shared what winning the award meant to her: “It means the world to me, especially as someone who is a carer for her mum and only started their business three years ago. It means a lot to have been recognised for all the hard work that I’ve done.
“I’m so proud of Leicester, even if I didn’t win an award; I’d still be so proud just too even be here surrounded by so many talent people from my hometown.”
