Many congratulations to three distinguished individuals from Leicester who have been recognised in the New Year Honours List.

Rob Nixon, former Chief Constable of Leicestershire Police, has been appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for his exceptional services.

Jon Ashworth, former Member of Parliament for Leicester South, has also been honoured with a CBE in recognition of his dedicated public service.

In addition, Professor Nishan Canagarajah, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Leicester, has been awarded a knighthood, acknowledging his outstanding contributions to his field and his significant impact on academia.
