American civil rights campaigner Reverend Jesse Jackson was in Leicester today for the opening of a new park that was renamed in his honour.
The reverend joined City Mayor Sir Peter Soulsby and Leicester East MP Kieth Vaz at a new revamped open space on Troon Way which has been re-launched as ‘Jesse Jackson Park’
Trees have been planted, seats installed and a brand new walking trail created through the park which commemorates the 50 years since Martin Luther King’s famous “I have a dream” speech.
