People gathered in the centre of Nottingham last night for a silent vigil to remember the victims of the terrorist shootings in Paris on Wednesday.
More than 100 people attended the vigil, which took place at the Brian Clough statue at the edge of Nottingham’s Market Square, many held posters carrying the slogan “Nous Sommes Charlie”.
They remembered the 12 victims of the Charlie Hebdo terror attack and observed a minute’s silence to show solidarity with the people of Paris and support freedom of speech.
Many in attendance were journalists, broadcasters and students, including some French citizens living in Nottingham.
