A city library has officially be reopened today following a refurbishment.
Westcotes Library, on Narborough Road, has undergone a number of improvements as part the Transforming Neighbourhood Services project for the west area of the city.
The building’s lighting system has been replaced with more modern and economical alternatives, and a new self-service kiosk has been installed. In addition, space in the library has been reorganised to make it more accessible and flexible for community groups.
Assistant city mayor for neighbourhood services, Cllr Kirk Master, said: “The refurbishment has enabled the building to work much better for local people. The new lighting will also help us to run the building more economically and make it more sustainable for the future.”
Members of the public got a chance to look round the refurbished library and try out the new self-service kiosk.
