Indian stand-up comedian Manpreet Singh made his highly anticipated debut in Leicester at the weekend, leaving the audience roaring with laughter at the city’s Chutney Ivy restaurant.

The show, titled Na Sir Na Pair, marked Manpreet’s first time performing in Leicester, and it was clear from the moment he took the stage that his brand of comedy was a perfect fit for the vibrant city.
The crowd, which included fans from across the Midlands and even as far as Italy, quickly warmed to Manpreet’s unique storytelling, cultural anecdotes, and universal humour.
Having been in the comedy circuit for over five years, Manpreet Singh, or ‘The Comic Singh’, is no stranger to the world stage. The comedian travels to 13 countries annually, performing in cities such as Birmingham, Slough, and now Leicester. His next stop will be Europe and Dubai, and his growing international popularity has made him a must-see act on the global comedy scene.
“I love performing in Slough because the audience is amazing there, but I also love Leicester – a city which has made me feel very welcome,” said Manpreet, reflecting on his UK shows. “Today, I would rate this show a 10 out of 10 — from the venue to the audience, everything was perfect.”

Manpreet’s journey to comedy is as inspiring as his performances. Before becoming a full-time comedian, he worked as a delivery driver for Domino’s Pizza, earning a modest income. Now, he jokes that the amount he earns from one comedy show exceeds his entire annual salary at Domino’s. His success story serves as a testament to the power of following one’s passion and embracing the art of comedy, even from humble beginnings.
Speaking with Pukaar, Manpreet also touched on a serious topic — the rising mental health crisis. “Right now, everyone is dealing with depression, and I believe it will only get bigger in the coming years,” he said. “But as depression grows, the comedy market grows with it. People need laughter more than ever.”
With his infectious humour, unique perspective, and clean comedy style, Manpreet Singh is quickly becoming one of the brightest stars in the global comedy scene. His Leicester debut was a resounding success, and fans are already eagerly awaiting his return.
If you missed out on this show, which was organised by Pukaar Group and Topnotch Studios, don’t worry — organisers have hinted at plans to bring Manpreet back to Leicester next year.
