The ninth National Samosa Week is just around the corner, bringing with it a joyful celebration of one of the world’s most loved snacks.

The idea behind National Samosa Week is simple: celebrate, share, and enjoy. Throughout the week, people are encouraged to eat as many samosas as they like, whether homemade, from local takeaways, or enjoyed with friends and family. It’s a chance to explore new flavours, support local businesses, and appreciate the cultural heritage behind this iconic snack.

A key part of the celebration is getting involved online. Food lovers are invited to take pictures of their samosas and share them on social media using the hashtag ‘National Samosa Week.’

These shared moments help bring people together and showcase just how versatile this beloved snack can be.

The week was founded in Leicester by Romail Gulzar, who wanted to give this beloved snack the recognition it deserves. As he famously said: “There’s a national food event for everything… so why not samosas?”

His vision was to create something fun, inclusive, and community-driven -and that spirit continues today as more people join in each year.

So, mark your calendar for the second week of April. From 6th to 12th April, grab your favourite samosas, snap a photo, share the joy, and most importantly – enjoy every delicious bite.
