WITNESSES are sought after a teenager was attacked by a group of men in the city, who shattered his nose and cheekbone.
The incident, which happened last Saturday night (January 8), took place on Gallowtree Gate (pictured).
The 16-year-old was punched in the back of the head by one of the men, a blow which knocked him unconscious.
His nose and cheekbone were also broken as a result of the attack.
The teenager was with two of his friends at the time of the incident, which happened at around 10.45pm.
Police believe that there are witnesses to the attack, and are appealing for them to come forward to help with their enquiries.
“I’d like to speak to anyone who was in the city centre on Saturday night and saw what happened,” said PC Neil Rawlings, the investigating officer.
“There will have been people out and about. What did you see? Did you see anyone running away?
“Any information you have, no matter how insignificant you think it is, could help my investigation.”
Anyone with information is urged to call Police on 101, or visit their website quoting reference 21*014613.
