Thousands of people gathered at Leicester’s Victoria Park earlier today (Wednesday, April 10) to celebrate Eid ul-Fitr.
Eid ul-Fitr completes what has been a sacred month for those belonging to the Islamic faith. For the past four weeks, Muslims everywhere have dedicated themselves to prayer, fasting between sunset and sunrise, paying regular visits to the mosque and giving to charity.
Thousands of people attended Victoria Park for the annual gathering, which began with prayers at 9am.
Festival-goers can join in with celebrations at the park until 7pm, where they are able to enjoy inflatable attractions, a collection of Halal food stalls, ice cream and a discounted funfair.
Entry is by donation.
