Yesterday saw the launch of two new exhibitions at Leicester’s New Walk Musuem, one being a collection of Germany’s most significant living painters, Georg Baselitz and the other, artwork by Maria Zahle, the winner of the 2014 Alexandra Reinhardt Memorial Award.
The Baselitz exhibition is part of the ‘Artist Rooms’, a collection of modern and contemporary art acquired for the nation by Tate and The National Galleries of Scotland and the generosity of Anthony d’Offay.
The exhibitions were launched by Leicester City Mayor Sir Peter Soulsby.
The exhibitions will be running until January 15.
