Two brand new hotels, Novotel and Adagio are set to open in Leicester next Thursday, January 16. The £40 million development will include a swish new restaurant, NineB.
NineB alone will create 28 new jobs in its 20-cover restaurant and the ten-strong kitchen team will be run by head chef Stewart Westwater, who has live in Leicester for 18 years.
Both hotels are part of the Accor family of brands, with the Novotel aimed at business and family travellers, and the Adagio offering a more informal, long and short-stay facility.
Designed by Koncept ID in partnership with the owners, the hotels have been built with high-end luxury and comfort in mind and the designs feature many bespoke fittings commissioned exclusively by its owners, including marble columns, atlas carpets, solid brass knobs on the doors, designer lighting and rugs imported from America.
The ten-storey full-service Novotel hotel has a state-of-the-art gym and 154 bedrooms: including 38 executive suites all fitted with 55-inch televisions; nine bespoke junior suites.
James Conaghan, general manager of the Novotel and Adagio Leicester hotels, said: “Adagio offers the service of a hotel with the freedom of an apartment. It’s a real home away from home. We’re proud to be offering real at-home comfort for visitors to Leicester, whether they’re on a long-stay business trip, have recently relocated or are visiting family at university.
“The Adagio will have such a homely and welcoming feel that we are even putting on weekly get-togethers for our guests – from cinema and popcorn evenings to book groups,” said James.
Its bright and airy reception area will have self-service iPad check-ins and a welcoming breakfast area called The Circle – an area for guests to meet and eat and is the only Adagio in the UK which serves a hot breakfast.
James added: “For those guests who are staying a little longer and require a few more home comforts our library book shelf area in the lobby will carry items to borrow – including soft toys, pouffes, books and magazines and a selection of other goodies. We have tried to think of everything to make our guests feel at home during their stay with us.”
