A recovering heroin addict has spoken of how scuba diving helped him escape a life of crime and drug use.
Daniel Hirons was given a unique opportunity to discover a new life underwater thanks to a pioneering scuba programme being run by the Loughborough-based rehabilitation centre ‘The Carpenter’s Arms Residential Centre’.
It’s run by Bryan Spence, who set it up 5 years ago to tackle the issue of homelessness.
He believes scuba diving plays a huge part in helping people recover from their addictions.
