Author and PR expert Sangeeta Waldron inspires change with her latest book ‘What Will Your Legacy Be?’

Sangeeta Waldron is an award-winning PR and marketing professional who leads her London-based agency, Serendipity PR. However, her influence extends far beyond the realm of public relations.

Sangeeta is also an accomplished author, and her third book, What Will Your Legacy Be?, is set to be released later this month. This latest work explores the profound concept of legacy, with a particular focus on the urgent issue of climate change—an environmental cause close to Sangeeta’s heart.

The book’s title, What Will Your Legacy Be?, poses a compelling question, urging readers to reflect on the lasting impact they will leave on the world. “I believe this is something everyone needs to consider,” Sangeeta explains.

“While writing the book, I realised that legacy isn’t something you start thinking about when you’re 50 or 60. It begins much earlier—at 14 or 15, when you start making informed choices. These choices aren’t just about you; they’re about the planet and its future.”

She continues, “The climate crisis is affecting the entire ecosystem. It doesn’t matter where you are in the world or what your socioeconomic status is—when disaster strikes, it impacts everyone. Look at the wildfires in LA. We all need to think differently.”

Sangeeta’s passion for environmental advocacy and her love of writing come together in this new book, which is set to release on January 30.

Her previous works—PR Knowledge Book (2019) and Corporate Social Responsibility (2021)—have received significant recognition, circulating at prestigious institutions such as Harvard and the London School of Business. Yet for Sangeeta, writing has never been about financial gain.

“It’s not about making money; it’s about passion,” she tells Pukaar. “Writing is a labor of love. I write because I believe my work can make a difference in the long run.”

Her latest book took over a year and a half to complete, reflecting her deep commitment to the subject. “It was a long process, but when you love something, it doesn’t feel like work. Writing has always been a part of me—even as a child. My mom used to say, ‘One day, you’ll write a book.’ And here I am, having written three!”

Born in the UK with strong ties to India, Sangeeta’s journey has been nothing short of inspiring. At the age of 14, she traveled to India for the first time and later completed her university education there. Upon returning to the UK in her early twenties, she faced significant challenges finding a job due to the recession of the 1990s and her lack of office experience.

On the advice of a friend, she took the civil service exam and spent five years working in government. However, her passion for communications and media eventually led her to pursue various PR roles in the not-for-profit sector.

In 2009, during the height of the global recession, Sangeeta took a bold step and founded her own agency, Serendipity PR.

“At that point, I figured if I could survive starting a business during a global recession, I could survive anything,” she says proudly. “And here I am in 2025, still going strong.”

The decision to start Serendipity PR also aligned with a personal milestone—becoming a mother. Sangeeta sought the flexibility of running her own business, which allowed her to be present for her son.

“I wanted to be a mother who could take my son to school and be there when he came home. At the time, many workplaces didn’t offer that kind of work-life balance, so I realised I had to create that lifestyle for myself.”

As she reflects on her journey, Sangeeta has much to be proud of. This year, she is also launching a new consultancy project called Greenhouse Duo, further expanding her professional impact. At the same time, she continues to inspire her son by modelling what it means to be a strong, compassionate, and driven working woman.

“My son understands the value of a working woman, and I hope that as he grows up, he’ll always recognize the importance of equal opportunity,” she shares.

With her latest book, Sangeeta hopes to spark vital conversations about the climate crisis. “We all need to be better informed about the impact of our actions. In the book, I explore various themes to encourage people to think differently.

“My hope is that readers will become more conscious of their choices and make decisions that benefit not only themselves but also the planet.”
