The Pukaar News team spent some time with Holly Desai, currently Miss Leicestershire and a finalist in this years Miss England 2015 Beauty Pageant.
Preparations are still going strong for the lead up to the Final and having heard about some bad press based on the Competition, Holly gave her views explaining that there is more to it than a pretty face, “Miss England is not an outdated competition, it very much has a place in modern society. It encourages girls to be confident, to be fit, to be charitable, to go out there and just do something to make a difference to their community and then look at that, and think how you can take that and do it on a bigger scale if you were to win Miss England.
She continued to mention, “It’s unfortunate that it’s been portrayed in such a negative light, because what you look like is a very small part of it, the dress that you wear on the night is a very small part of it. People think that’s all you have to do, turn up, wear a dress, but there is so much more, there has been months of preparation and I really put my heart and soul into it this year. I feel I am a worthy winner and I just hope that other people can see that”.
This years Miss England final is happening in Coventry at the Ricoh Arena on the 14th of august, you can find more information about the event at the website www.missengland.info
