Stephen Graham, a Hollywood actor living in Leicestershire, is among those receiving honours at Buckingham Palace today for his services to drama.
The 49-year-old, who’s best known for his role as Andrew ‘Combo’ Gascoigne in 2006 film ‘This is England’, will be made a OBE for services to drama today (Thursday, April 20).

He starred in the crime comedy ‘Snatch’ alongside Brad Pitt, as well as ‘The Irishman’, where he played mobster Anthony Provenzano alongside Al Pacino and Robert De Niro.
Graham also played criminals Stephen Shang in Gangs Of New York, Baby Face Nelson in ‘Public Enemies’ and Al Capone in period crime drama series ‘Boardwalk Empire’.
He starred in the fifth series of ‘Line of Duty’, and had a role in the ‘Peaky Blinders’ finale last year.
More recent projects include a turn in in ‘Matilda the Musical’, where he plays Matilda’s father, Mr Wormwood.
He received a BAFTA nomination last year for best leading actor for his role in the high-intensity drama ‘Boiling Point.’
When his OBE was announced in the New Year’s Honours list last year, Stephen dedicated it to his late mother, who had died just days earlier.
Revealing the news on Twitter in December, he wrote: “This incredible, inspirational, woman & the purest heart my mum passed away.
“Her words as a child, ‘no one is above you and no one is below you all are equal’, have remained with me throughout my life. I feel so honoured and proud to share this with her. An OBE for both of us, Mum.”
