Assistant Chief Constable Roger Bannister, from Leicestershire Police has confirmed a local man in his 20s has been seriously assaulted in Kent Street, and died in hospital later. Another incident a house fire in which four people from the same family died, a woman in her late forties, a girl aged 19 and two boys aged 17 and 15 died in the blaze in the Wood HIll Area of the city is also being investigated.
