Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival 2016 award nominees have been announced, following the annual Festival that took place from February 3-21 which featured over 780 events in 68 venues across the city.
The awards were set up in 2006 to recognise the comedians and venues that take part in the festival each year.
This year the majority of the awards have been decided by members of the public who applied to become members of the Awards Panel.
For the first time members of the public are being invited to vote for their favourite venues that can be made via: www.sureveymonkey.co.uk/r/DLCFawards2016.
Geoff Rowe, Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival Director said: “The festival awards are a great way for us to acknowledge the performers, venues and other people who contribute so much to the annual festival.
“The ceremony has grown in importance in recent years and we’re looking forward to opening the gold envelopes and announcing the winners on the night.”
Winners of the 2016 awards will be announced at a private ceremony taking place at the Mercure Grand Hotel Leicester on March 21st.
