The current record stands at 749 people, however armed with a specially designed paper crown, Leicester is gearing up to take the title.
From 10am visitors, who are wholly encouraged to dress in full royal regalia, can pick up their crowns whilst during the attempt Curve will stage Leicester’s largest ever mass reading of Richard III’s iconic speech from William Shakespeare’s play about the king.
It’s not the only event happening at the theatre, as to celebrate in style Curve is offering a host of free performances and activities for all ages, such as Comedy for Kids with comic and poet Ian Billings; 2Funky Dance Explosion, showcasing some Leicester’s most spectacular dance artists and A Play in a Day, which sees members of the community challenging themselves to block, rehearse and perform seven five minute plays in just eight hours.
