A ground-breaking Leicestershire arts project has celebrated the success of its first graduates at the Curve Theatre in Leicester.
Eleven young people, aged 16 to 25, of the Arts Entrepreneurs project were commended for setting up social enterprises which will benefit their local communities, at the event held today (Thursday, August 16).
The 10 social enterprises have included wide participation in the arts through movement, dance and music and have explored issues such as trans-racial adoption, sexual health, dyslexia and mental illness.
Family, friends and local businesses attended the event to enjoy a lavish sit down dinner and congratulate the talented young people on their efforts.
It is hoped that following its success, the project, supported by the Curve and funded by two national grants, will see an uptake of even more young people when it commences again next year.
